Sale PSA: Perfect “Vintage” jeans from Madewell, now $56 with code EXTRA, a beautiful wrap satin dress from Zimmermann, now $262 (maybe I have been watching too many Real Housewives episodes), and a drapey black blazer from Everlane, now $68 (this could be great?? But final sale, ugh – I guess that’s the tradeoff for 70% off)
1. This week, sharing these adorable yellow Louboutin pumps.
I feel like it’s been a while since I looked at Louboutin. I tried to buy a pair of patent loafers a few years ago but they sold out of my size and I never really went back. But these are such a nice pretty shade of yellow and I have always liked the style.
2. I have been meaning to share this for a while – I hope you all enjoy this fun and interesting interview with Tom Ford, via GQ.
3. Sharing an article, via The Cut, about the “bad nanny wars.” Oh gosh am I glad to be past the stage of constant childcare juggling….although I still am, now it’s just after school stuff, etc…I guess it doesn’t end for a while.
4. I thought this piece, again via The Cut, about how much it takes to be a designer, was quite illuminating on costs.
5. This week, I read American Girls, by Jessica Roy.
I liked this a lot. A really riveting non-fiction read about how an “American” (white) woman could possibly end up in Syria (bringing her two children) and in ISIS territory. I did wonder if the author was a little too close to the subject in that she had to rely heavily on interviews with them – I don’t want to give too much away but I did feel very badly for one sister and maybe less sympathetic to the other. But if you are looking for a fascinating non-fiction read, I highly recommend American Girls.
